Keyword Research

One of the most important aspects of affiliate marketing is keyword research. Keyword research is at the heart of any good marketing campaign. Why? Because that is how your prospective customer finds your products and services. If you have poor keyword selection, you will get a poor response. This will lead to no sales!

So what is poor keyword research? Poor keyword research is not being able to identify the right keywords that will cause your prospective customer to take action. For example, lets say you were selling a 2008 Honda Civic EX. You setup a website with images and information regarding this sweet car. Then you assign the site some keywords, some of which are "car", "Hondas" and "Sedan".

These are pretty generic keywords. Every time someone types in these keywords, there is a 99 percent chance your site won't come up when searched on Google or Yahoo.

Now, the opposite or good keyword research would be to use something called a long tail keyword. These are keyword phrases that are more specific to what someone might be searching for. For example, "buy 2008 Honda Civic EX in New Mexico" would be a longtail keyword. It is specific enough that someone looking to "buy 2008 Honda Civic EX in New Mexico" would see your site/ad.

So where do you find keywords that are being looked up daily and how frequently? Other than using Google's Tool in Adwords, you can use an online resource such as Nichebot2

I have been using Nichebot for quite a while now and for the money, it is one of the best research tools in my arsenal. I highly recommend checking it out, especially since you can use All the tools for $1 for 2 weeks. Think of the research you could get done in that time!
